As Tiger deals with yet another set ‘back’ and the media begins it’s over ananlysis of what ailes the big cat of golf. Phil Mickleson plays through the pain of arthritis and Jim Furyk goes the way of Steve Stricker by deciding to play a reduced schedule in 2015. We seem to be missing out on the new era in golf greatness emerging. Rory McIroy, Martin Kaymer, Adam Scott, and Bubba Watson are forming a new quadrumpirate!
In the last 14 majors these master blasters have dominated with 8 victories and even more top ten fininshes. This foursome has played with fierce, intensitiy on the course against each other and extraordinay mutual compassion off. They have demonstrated great individuality while rising to the challenges of beating their compadres on the fields of competition. All while their philanthropic giving has fit perfectly in our sense of community and social awareness. The social media savvy demonstrated by this elite group is the perfect window into their collective souls. Giving us the open book read into their private lives we feel we deserve. As role models for us, our children, and future generations, we have everything we have ever wanted in today’s professional golfers. Enough with what was!
