Golf’s Long Drive Expert: David Mobley & Charitable Fundraising
David Mobley has been a peoples’ champion in many arenas for 25 years. Over that time his love for life and golf have brought enjoyment and excitement to more than 500 corporate and charity golf events as well as helped to raise millions of dollars for worthy causes through the use of his long drive skills and outgoing personality. “I just love meeting and helping people.” says Dave.
Realizing the challenges facing us all in the current economic environment, Mr. Mobley has started a new fundraising assistance venture, “Driving for a Better World.” Simply put, at each event where Mr. Mobley performs the total distance of all the drives hit by Dave on a specified hole will be recorded and distance tallied. For every mile that Mr. Mobley drives during the time frame of tournament play, participants, sponsors and people from the surrounding community are encouraged to pledge a dollar amount per mile. At the end of the day the total yards driven will be converted to miles, the money will be collected and every dollar will be donated to the benefiting charities.
“At TPC Piper Glen, we host an annual Birdies for the Brave charity tournament to benefit our armed forces. We have had great success in previous years, but with the help of David Mobley, 2008 was like no other. On the 18th tee, participants pledged money to see how many “miles” David could drive the ball for the entire day. With his outside the box fundraising idea, exceptional talent, and outgoing personality, he helped us raise more money in 2008 than we ever have. I can’t wait to have him back for this event next year and to also market him to our other corporate outings.”
